the 19th century based on a vision of a German
nun.

The site was made famous by the travels of Pope
Paul VI and Pope John Paul II. In November of
2006, Pope Benedictus the 16th paid an official
visit to the House of the Virgin Mary.

from the healing water of the Fountain of St.

where Ephesus is situated and enter this
magnificent site.

famous city, passing by Hadrian’s Temple, which
was the only structure to be made totally of
marble.

Be welcomed by the breathtaking site of the
Celsus Library, one of the best-preserved
libraries in the world.

Continue on viewing the Baths of Scholastikia
and Fountain of Trajan along the way.

The Great theatre had seating for 24,000, which
was the site where it is believed St. Paul
preached to the Ephesians, and is used today for
a local spring festival.
NOTE: This excursion involves walking over
relatively uneven surfaces and cobblestones and can
be slippery when wet.
Comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, water and a
hat are recommended. No photos can be taken inside
